Abstract:

Presented at the 2013 Improving Data, Improving Outcomes Conference. How can CEDS support state agencies responsible for early intervention and preschool special education programs and their data? This session helped participants understand the benefits of using common data elements and definitions in their early childhood data systems. Tools developed by the Common Education Data Standards (CEDS) initiative were demonstrated to illustrate the power of shared data dictionaries, shared evaluation and research questions, and shared analytic strategies to answer important program and policy questions.
