Abstract:

Presented at the 2013 Improving Data, Improving Outcomes Conference. Participants reviewed hypothetical state family outcomes data. We began the journey with indicators of data quality including outliers and low response rates. Next we rolled up our sleeves up and dug into the patterns in the family outcomes data, including looking at outcomes by region, race/ethnicity, and home language. Finally, we linked data to examine connections between family outcomes and child outcomes, and discussed implications of analyses for developing targeted data-based improvement activities.
