Presented at the 2012 Measuring and Improving Child and Family Outcomes Conference. Panelists discussed how their training and TA delivery has evolved over the past decade to address outcomes measurements as well as program improvement. The panel also described how training on child outcomes fits with the bigger professional development system in their states, as well as strategies they use to make sure it meets its mark in terms of audience and learning objectives.

This presentation was given at the US Department of Education and Department of Health and Human Services Listening and Learning about Early Learning Tour. The session discussed issues related to assessment for young children with disabilities, including universal design and various purposes of assessment. Recommendations and specifications for quality early childhood assessment tools are presented.

Presented at the 2011 Measuring Child and Family Outcomes Conference. This session enabled participants to explore the context and current opportunities for aligning child and family outcomes across health, early learning/development and family engagement. Speakers shared an example of how a shared vision and outcomes helped sustain and leverage funding and system improvement for Louisiana BrightStart, and facilitated participant discussion of strategies for creating and contributing to shared (cross system) outcomes and results for young children and families.

A look at how children use skills in a meaningful way in everyday settings and situations in order to be successful participants in their homes with their families, in child care, in preschool or school programs, and in the community. Through discussion and practice, this session provided information and examples to help professionals look at how children integrate skills across domains to achieve meaningful goals in their everyday life.

Presented at the 2009 Measuring Child and Family Outcomes Conference.

The IDEA Partnership assembled a panel of representatives from DEC, ASHA, AOTA, and APTA to consider the role of the related services provider in measuring child outcomes for federal reporting. Each representative responded to scenarios which highlight the challenge of service provider participation in the assessment of children's functioning. Panelists discussed with participants how to ensure the optimal involvement of the related services provider in measuring the three outcome areas.

Presenters from DE and NC discussed the benefits and potential of 619 engagement in state Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS) development and use, as well as considerations specifically related to making QRIS work for programs which include children with disabilities, such as strategies for measurement, incentives for involvement, licensing and monitoring, and others.
